Hello...... feeling a bit down at the moment as Mum and Dad have just left after a fab 2 1/2 week crazy 'no time for jet-lag' tour of New Zealand!!!!! After many months of painstaking planning and ticking off the days on the calendar, it was all over apart from 100s of photos and some great memories!!!!! The most amazing thing was that they let me drive them around the South Island for 9 days and 2500 kms and they survived!!!!! We hardly saw any of the North Island apart from out of the window of the plane from Auckland to wellington....I guess they are just going to have to come back!!!!! Mum and Dad worked really hard in my garden, I'm trying my hardest to keep those plants alive!!!!!! Here are just a 'few' piccies......
The Auckland sky-line, a never-ending building site!!!!!
Mum celebrated her 60th Birthday 11 hours earlier than she would if she had been in the UK!!! Luckily she got to claim those hours back on the return trip!!!! We drove her over the Scary Rimutaka Mountain Ranges to the Wairarapa area where we saw vineyards, went for dinner at the 'Tin Hut', tea at Lake Ferry Hotel and saw seals at Cape Palliser. We tried to go to visit the well-kept secret glow worm caves that are friends Katie and Emily once took us to which are just in a farmers field but they were closed to the public. (All was not lost because we found some on our trip down South, they are so cool)
