You can just make out the Interislander Ferry making its way across the Cook Strait towards the snowy mountains of the South Island where Rob is snowboarding this week!!!!!

My commute to work

Just thought you might like to see these pictures from my commute to work (on 2 legs!!!!). It was such a beautiful Sunny day and the sky was 'Kiwi Blue'.

Reluctantly leaving Houghton Valley on my way to work, our house is hidden from view in the the left hand corner of the first piccie!!!

The Ugliest building in Wellington that just happens to be my destination, Wellington Public Hospital is in the distance. As you can imagine on such a beautiful day, I just wanted to keep on walking but duty calls!!!!!

House Warming Party!!!!!

Rob and I finally had a house warming party last Saturday which turned out to be great fun. After several glasses of Robs toxic Mulled Wine the Playstation Singstar microphones came out and we all made complete fools of ourselves!!!!!

This was the view from our deck on a very windy and wet Saturday!!!! I counted 9 rainbows in one day!!!! Shame about the rain splashes on the lenses!!!

We have a warm house!!!!!

There seems to be a crazy Kiwi mentality that means that it is preferable to wear every item of clothing in your wardrobe and be able to see your breath as you sit shivering inside your house rather than insulate and heat it!!!! We were thrilled to find a log burning stove in the living area of our new house but were quite cynical about its ability to heat our whole house. We are sooooo excited to discover that it actually does!!!!!

Moving house is a great excuse for eating takeaway!!!!!

I've decided that the best thing about this moving business is having an excuse to eat pizza!!!! (Like we need one!!!!). We celebrated moving into our house by having some friends around for the best ever pizza from 'The Mediterranean Food Warehouse.

We could have done with a 'Thora Hird style' Stannah Stair Lift!!!!

Hi everyone I'm just trying to gather enough energy together to sustain life so that I can write this blog. Rob and I have been moving some of our stuff into our new house today!!!! We are quite knackered!!!! The downside to our fantastic view is the fact that there are 69 steps up to our house and by the 25th box I felt like a tiny wee dwarf trying to reach the castle of a huge giant with huge giant sized steps to match!!!!! Where had all the bones in our legs gone, they had turned to jelly!!! We have joked in the past about the fact that some of (the houses in Hilly Wellington have external Stannah Style Stair Lifts......now we understand why!!!!

We picked up the keys to our new house on Friday(another entry in the address book, sorry Mum!!!!). We got to the house on Saturday to find a hamper on the kitchen worktop from the Estate Agent!!!! Our friends had offered to help us move on Saturday but the truth was we were not very organised and had not even finished packing!!!! They just get to come around for pizza and champagne without the hard work!!!! The professional mover guys are coming on Wednesday to move the big stuff, they are going to love us!!!
