Round the Bays.

Last Sunday Nicki and I and 10000 other crazy people dragged ourselves out of bed far too early for a Sunday morning to run in the annual Vector Round The Bays Race in Wellington. We managed to 'shuffle' 7km in 47 minutes which was not bad considering we had been rather slack in the training department for the 2 weeks before the race. A highlight of the race was being hosed down by 2 rather attractive Firemen towards the end of the course!!!!! Saturday at the Ruth Pretty Cooking School.

On Saturday Rob and I went up the Kapiti Coast to attend the 'World famous in New Zealand' Chef, Ruth Pretty's Cooking School. http://www.ruthpretty.co.nz/ It was my Christmas Present from Rob but I think he enjoyed being served good food and wine without having to even pick up a knife or look for the corkscrew just as much as I did!!!! We are never going to become the next 'Jamie' or 'Gordon' but we do enjoy experimenting on our mates and have become very competitive in the kitchen. New Zealand has become a real 'foodies' heaven, great delis and coffee and, in my humble opinion, we produce some of the best Sauvignon Blancs and Rieslings in the world!!! I certainly enjoy carrying out comparative studies!!!

After the perfect day out eating,drinking and being entertained with stories from the very entertaining Ruth Pretty, we were in no fit state to drive back to Wellington so we borrowed our friends tent and camped at the beach in Otaki. We took our wetsuits and Boogie Boards.
